Dear Sir, I would like to bring the following "shocking" news article to your attention - http://goo.gl/qxeYGB
The dangerous rickety contraptions called "vanos" should be prevented from plying in New town (if not from everywhere!). Also the routes served by the vanos seem to be major roads connecting the unitech area with sukhobrishti - seems like the buses that were introduced in that route are not enough to cater to the demand / timings are not reliable. During peak rush hours NKDA should explore the possibility of adding some special bus routes between Rabindra Tirtha and Sukhobrishti (via Unitech). That would keep these "vanos" at bay by reducing the demand.
Maybe some of the facts have been exaggerated, but just last week I have heard a first hand account of somebody spotting a "vano" on the major arterial road near Rabindra Tirtha ! They reported it as a cycle van running at a high speed - but did not know the term "vano" !
I hope the authorities will keep a lookout for such dangerous vehicles and confiscate them if spotted within new town,
