After Skype, e-Receipt

In this blog, I'd mentioned of use of Skype in dealing with Salt Lake land issues (see http://principalsecretarysblog.blogspot.in/2014/05/skype.html ). Now from yesterday, we started the e-Receipt System. The e-Receipt system is based on memo no. 2634-F(Y) dated 20.5.2014 of Finance Department and notification number 904-UD dated 26.5.2014 of Urban Development Department. The first e-receipt was generated yesterday for one Sunil Kumar Senguta who wanted to deposit Rs. 1,000 towards processing fee for transfer application of a plot of land. Here is the photo:

  3. Dear Mr.Sen,

I have always been a great admires of your way of work and innovative thinking. e-receipt is a great effort towards making a hassle free system.

Bit off topic, but I couldn't resist to draw your attention to one important place & also crucial aspect of our state--Darjeeling and tourism! It has been all time favorite destination and I go there almost every year...Had been there last week too and got upset with the condition of the place. The town has become more crowded and like a concrete jungle, with unplanned buildings coming up on every bit of free land still avaliable. The road from Ghoom to Darjeeling Toy Train station, looks like any crowded street of Central Kol,so is the condition of the ones near Chowk Bazar,Toy Train Station,Botanical garden and Mall. There was so much scope of turning the Mall into a beautiful promenade (on the lines of MG Marg of Gangtok),but unfortunately nothing has been done...Rather,the Nehru Marg is getting dotted with all ugly looking shops and the one near Mahakal Temple now houses a hawker market! That was the only stretch of green left inside the main town...Most of the buildings are in dilapidated state and the road condition is also in a pitiable state. There is no proper street lighting system and the wires are hanging in a dangerous manner everywhere.....Infact,now when someone tries to click a photo from a street in Darjeeling,I doubt how much of the nearby hills get 'highlighted' in the frame! Saw pile of garbage on Gandhi Road and also some other place..
Considering the fact that this place has got the best potential of drawing domestic & international tourists in our state,Darjeeling definitely deserves better care & attention....

I have seen the effort taken by you for building infrastructure in places like Digha & ofcourse New Town. Would seriously look forward to your involvement & guidance in projects in Darjeeling...

This is a request from a Darjeeling lover...

    Regards,
    Sourav Chakraborty
