Skype

In the Urban Development Department, we just used Skype yesterday to interview a lease-holder of a land in Salt Lake. A British citizen now, Mr Anthony Thomas Biswas who is in London, appeared on a Skype meeting with us at 1pm Indian time yesterday. This was part of a procedure followed by us in the government that a leaseholder must personally appear in an interview with us in UDD before his request for transfer of leasehold rights can be processed. Last evening, we had a meeting with French architect-urban planners at the Glass House in Eco Island. Town Planners, architect and engineers of UD Department, KMDA, NKDA and Hidco were present to listen to M. David Mangin and Ms Florence Bougnoux. The visit was co-ordinated by the Director of Alliance Francaise in Kolkata. On our part, Mr Prasanta Bhattacharya, Chief Planner Hidco made a presentation of planning principles adopted in New Town. Later, Partha Ghosh, Eco Park Curator showed them around Eco Park on an Eco Cart. Two pics:
