  1. Hi Sir,
Where are these two parks located? Couldn't find them in Google Maps or the WBHIDCO website.
Its good to see development in AA-II.

  2. It's good to see such wonderful parks coming up all over new town. However, NKDA should also try to make new town a pedestrian friendly walk-able city by building proper footpaths within the action areas. It does not have to be as elegant as the walkways in the park - but something basic. While it is sad to see hawkers taking over a few stretches designated for footpaths, it is more frustrating to see the NKDA authorities themselves take over footpath areas and convert them into parking lots. Eg. front of axis mall, behind home town etc. as a result of this you have people walking on the road - risking their lives and also traffic slowing down on the roads to avoid hitting them - thereby defeating the very purpose of reducing on-street parking and keeping traffic flowing !

    2. Walk-ability is an important aspect no doubt. Inspite of the huge development of infrastructure in New Town in the last few years, pavements are grossly missing. eg, if a paerson wants to take a walk today from HIDCO Bhavan to Akansha via MAR, he hardly has any wide footpath to walk.

    3. Yes, and all along the Eco park, which has wonderful pathways inside, if you want to walk along the MAR, you will need to walk on the service road, because the Eco park boundary wall has encroached upon the space designated for pavement (concrete slabs over storm drain). This is really unfortunate and I hope the authorities will realize and do something about it !
