A few hours ago, the last film of 20th KIFF 2014 in Nazrul Tirtha was screened. It was 6 pm that it started after a brief felicitation of the Director and Producer of the film Jhumura. Yesterday, I saw both films, both Iranian. The second film was called Red Rose and we felicitated its director Ms Sepideh Farsi. It was great talking to her over a cup of tea at the Nazrul Tirtha canteen. A picture when Ms Farsi was on the stage just before the 6 pm film yesterday:

Sir, it is good to see that some important new roads are being built across the state. This will help both the economy and the people of WB in a long way.
ReplyDeleteNow the government should also look to make more linkages between both the sides of the river. A bridge or a tunnel to the south of the new Howrah bridge is very much required. It could be directly linked with NH6, so that traffic heading to Behala and other parts of S 24 Parganas could have a short route. It would also be beneficial for all the towns in the Howrah region as they will get a very short and direct link to the main city. The government is already doing some very good work and I think this could also be another very good and important project from the government.
Yes that is the Southern expressway which was earlier planned to connect
ReplyDeleteBaruipur with Uluberia via Budge Budge.
At present,
1. EM bypass is undergoing an extension to Baruipur.
2. A 7 km flyover is planned on Budge-Budge trunk road.
A whole sale mundi can be planned along these Southern expressway. Which can supply vagetables, fish, meat, grocery etc to the entire south kolkata. A new planed Bara-bazar / Posta.
It is a cost effective solution. where the Villages of howrah, Purba meddipur, and South 24 pargana get an market at low cost. as there will be no time restriction for transporting the goods to and from this market.
