The website of Rabindratirtha was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister on 29.12.12. Now, just a couple of days ago, we launched an ambitious project of digitising Rabindranath's biography and launching it in the world wide web to reach across the globe to the Bengali diaspora, especially targetting web savyy Gen X who want to know more about Rabindranath but do not have an easy way to do so. The selected agency, located in Sector 5 Salt Lake, has to do the following within a target date of six months from 1st August 2014:
.- A web-based digital biography of Tagore.
- A dynamic home page with time-appropriate content.
-A time line with 360 degree associations such as newspaper coverage, audio-visual etc.
- Customized view using full text search .

This is absolutely fine. But who is the person come at early morning for walking and by paying Rs-50 for parking and entry ticket Rs-10. Miracle... !!
ReplyDeleteEntry Ticket 10 , is GOOD.
ReplyDeleteIts a must.
The monthly rate of Rs750 seems reasonable for car owners because it includes parking - but there should be a cheaper option for walk-in folks arriving by public transit / walking / bicycling / carpooling. Rs. 300 per month maybe ?
ReplyDeleteThe fee of Rs. 750/8250 seems a bit steep for the common man.
ReplyDeleteFor the local residents who live nearby and choose not to bring their car, we should have the normal entry fee of Rs. 10.00. These could be issued in booklets of 25 or 50, prepaid, to eliminate the need to have the ticket counter open.
This way, all sections of society could enjoy their morning stroll in this wonderous park !!
The normal entry fee has hiked to Rs.20 eff June 1st. At that rate 30 days would cost Rs.600. Morning walkers should get a discount - so Rs.300 monthly would be more appropriate I think.
DeleteThe membership card will entitle a holder to come in the evening too. But car parking will be extra. And yes, it is Rs 20 entry fee per head to Eco Park now.
ReplyDeleteSo is this proposed membership card per person or covers family... eg. for a family of four wanting to go to Eco park for morning walks - do they need to get 1 card for Rs.750 or 4 cards for Rs 3000 ? If it is the former, the rate is reasonable, but if it is the latter it is quite steep !
ReplyDeleteAlso, keeping in mind the "common man" who can just walk in without a car, the option of pre-paid coupons/smart cards as suggested by ArunM would be good.
