I broke ground with breaking of coconut marking the commencement of work of the community hall in Seniors' Park. This will be a two storied structure with a coffee shop cum reading room, a function area, games area and a general purpose space. Spread over two floors, the area is 10,000 sq ft. Here is a photo:

Pathways have already been laid in he Seniors' Park. But there a special tactile pavement in the pathway meant to benefit the visually challenged. The long grooves allow the white canes of the visually challenged to be placed. At places where the footpath end, or at junction points, the designs are like buttons. A photo:

Today afternoon, Minister Firhad Hakim planted a sapling at Rabindra Tirtha to mark its second anniversary. He also inaugurated an exhibition and handed over keys of winners of lottery for stalls / shops in the three markets where lottery was done. The programme as well as the cultural programme was webcasted live on the web. Two photos:

The Sulabh Sauchalay or Pay & Use Toilet in Salt Lake was inaugurated today. Minister Hakim was scheduled to come but was unable to do so and I cut the ribbon:

I hope the photo of the pre-bid meeting in Financial hub was related to the plots of Financial hub and lets hope that we have a good success in attracting investments. Also we should publicize it well ( not a single newspaper has carried out an article that 12+ financial firms have taken plots in and around finance hub). However they are more than eager to publish any negative news.
ReplyDeleteAbout Rabindra Tirtha, I have a few suggestions:
1. All the live webcasts should be uploaded in any media server ( like youtube) and the links for them should be provided in Rabindra Tirtha website for folks who want to see the videos later ( he/she might have missed it during webcast time).
2. HIDCO should have a tieup with Biswabharati and people should be able to purchase copies of Complete Works of Rabindranath (books), CDs from RabindraTirtha. For online ordering and delivery of same, HIDCO can tieup with Flipkart, Snapdeal etc
3. Online booking of tickets / auditoriums of Rabindra Tirtha and demand based pricing of them.
I had a look at the minutes of pre-bid meeting.: http://www.wbhidcoltd.com/uploads/corrigendum/Corrigen_116.pdf
ReplyDeleteBank of Maharashtra, Oriental Bank, Syndicate Bank, Indian OverSeas Bank, SBI and GIC seems to have participated. This is a good list. But 1 thing that is to be kept in mind is other than Shriram...no other pvt sector companies seems to be interested as of now ( ICICI, Axis, HDFC, Kotak, HSBC etc).
Can we plan to reach out more aggresively at these pvt sector banks by having another round of road show in Bombay? Perhaps we need to do some more introspection about the process, and the formalities which may be deterring pvt sector banks.
Now since we have a good number of public sector investors in finance hub, it should give more confidence to the pvt sector financial firms if a proper buzz is created through road-shows and advertisements in financial newspapers and magazines.
