We also held the second meeting of the Kolkata Beautification Committee of which I am the co-ordinator. Many agencies including HIDCO, Urban Forestry etc showed photographs of their achievements. KMC gave a presentation. Next meeting will be held on 21st Oct.
KMC hosted a good lunch too!

"The concept is to introduce a personalized rapid transit system (PRTS) in Rajarhat. The cars will be battery-operated and ply on dedicated routes without a driver. A feasibility report will be prepared on this plan," said Sen."
"The PRTS has been introduced in London's Heathrow Airport. These zero-emission vehicles are capable of carrying four to six passengers along with luggage and ply along a dedicated route."..
"Sen said the vehicles will automatically move along a dedicated alignment, guided by a central control. Commuters will have to swipe a card that instructs the vehicle's control to ply."...
"While the Metro alignment will move through Rajarhat's Action Area I, its Action Area III has so far been left out of any mass transport system.
