Rabindra Tirtha in New Town

Half a dozen or so agencies have applied for against the Expression of Interest. The bid document will be ready by today. I have entrusted one General Manager (Engineering) whole-time exclusively to handle this project.

    Found this small news item at Statesman today-
    "Hidco comes under UD dept
    KOLKATA, 1 SEPT: The state Cabinet today gave its approval for transferring Hidco and Rajarhat-New Town to urban development (UD) department from housing department. The urban development secretary, Mr Debashis Sen, is the chairman and managing director of Hidco. Miss Mamata Banerjee had been quite keen on transfering Hidco to urban development department"

  2. Yes indeed the Cabinet approved on Friday (1st Sep) the proposal to transfer HIDCO to UD department. It now has to seek and obtain the Governor's approval whereafter a notification will be issued by the Home Department.
