The new-look Eco Park Office has just been commissioned. This is located close to Artists' Cottage, a bit away towards the herbal garden, on lake front. The view is simply splendid from the first floor triangular balcony.
I held a meeting here yesterday with NKDA officers. Gopal Ghosh, Debapriya Biswas, Pradip Roy, Suman Neogy, Abin De, Debjit, Asok Das, Pritam Thakur and others were present. We decided to have a cycling event around the lake on Sunday 22nd November to gain feedback and support for Smart City New Town. It will be flagged off by Minister Firhad Hakim. 8.30 am is the target time. The event will start and finish from Gate 4 of Eco Park. The route will be Gate 4-Gate 3-Gate 2-Gate-1 - Ekante Parking - Gate 6 - Biswa Bangla Hat / Gate 5 - Gate 1. There will be polling kiosks as well where citizens can give their opinion on the future positioning of New Town Smart City. Incidentally, we are working with IIT Kharagpur to make plans for a public cycle sharing scheme in New Town.
