Pan New Town Wi Fi

On 11 km of Biswa Bangla Sarani, we have already commissioned Wi Fi network. Now we are aiming to have Wi Fi on demand to all in New Town and free Wi Fi - at least for first 30 minutes or so - in public hot spots such as Bus Stands, Parks etc.

We'd published in newspapers a "Request for Information". As scheduled, yesterday at 4 pm, there were about 50 odd participants from more than a dozen distinct companies including BSNL, Aircel, Airtel, Docomo, Vodafone, Reliance Jio, Hathway and several others. There were many questions. We made certain comments. We said that while free right of way could be considered, no outdoor advertisement rights would be allowed. We said that we could give subsidy (L1) or accept grants/licence fees (H1). But whatever it would be, there'd be e-auction in a transparent manner. Picture of the meeting:
