Winter Festival in New Town

Yesterday, we had a meeting with the 30 odd housing estates / co-operatives of New Town. We talked about a possibility of holding a Winter Festival in Rabindra Tirtha by the residents of New Town. There was a great response and an Organising Committee was formed to take this forward. It was decided that the Festival may be held between 26th-30th Dec 2012 (5days) where the basic thrust would be to have entertaining group performances drawn from all units - instead of the usual 'within the campus' cultural groups. There was even a talk of staging an one act play by drawing from different areas of New Town. There was a suggestion of having a children section (quiz, sit-and-draw etc) on the lawns of Rabindra Tirtha in the afternoon.

  2. Dear PS,

I am ignorant of the fact if any website/portal exists for Rabindra Tirtha that contains a monthly/weekly program plan going to be held at the said place. If not, we should definitely think about it. In fact such kind of website should be there for each of the cultural spots in Kolkata.
    Please check out http://www.rangashankara.org/home/rangatest/
which is dedicated to Ranga Shankara @ Bangalore

    Best Wishes

    1. Thanks Arghya. This is a very valid point. Society has undergone some basic changes in the last few years / decades. People want to check out things in the web rather than bunking office and going physically at a place to inquire / validate anything and providing a regularly updated website for any type of service is such a basic point today that people take this for granted.

Website is an absolute must for all the upcoming places like Rabindra Tirtha, Eco Park, Nazrul Tirtha, Connvention Centre etc and these places should have regularly updated and completed websites and not like the incomplete website made for DSDA.

  3. I just told our new System Manager to get a website each for Rabindra Tirtha and Financial Hub - both of which may be linked to the main Hidco site
